Taking Tea in the Kasbah

WELCOME TO THE NEWLY REDESIGNED KASBAH!

Come on in. No passport required.

I’m so excited to finally throw open the doors for the official kasbah-warming party! Come on in and have a look around. While some things have remained the same, there are a few new things to check out. Don’t be shy. Click on the new tabs and icons or, if you’re the letter writing type, send me an email. Then, see if you can spot the gift from the classy British actor down below. Also, be sure to take a moment and stare at the glowing lanterns up there on the right. Pretty cool, huh? They’re one of my favorite things.

I’m so pleased with the way the kasbah looks and functions now and I hope you are, too. A million and one thanks and a SUPER BIG SHOUT OUT goes to the very talented Laird Sapir of Memphis McKay for her endless patience and creative enthusiasm in making the kasbah as lovely as it is. I HIGHLY recommend her for any of your blogging or website needs. She’s also a hilarious and witty writer whose blog you should definitely check out. While you’re there, go ahead and follow her on Twitter and Facebook as well. She’s a whole lot of fun to chat up.

Now that I have officially moved into my new digs, I need to ask a HUGE FAVOR of y’all. Don’t worry, I won’t need to borrow someone’s truck to move the furniture or enlist anyone’s help to finish up some painting. A certain classy British actor (who will be getting loads of thanks as well) already took care of that for me. The favor is quite simple really, shouldn’t take but a minute of your time and will ensure you’ll continue to get notified whenever there’s something happenin’ in the kasbah.

Because I couldn’t move all of your subscriptions from my old blog to my new blog, I would be so very grateful if you would re-subscribe to my blog.

It’s super easy – just skip over to the sidebar where you see my photo from Fez with the word “SUBSCRIBE” across it. Pop your email address in there and in mere seconds you’ll get the confirmation email (and my undying gratitude) to confirm it. Easy peasy. Or just grab the rss feed so you can keep reading my posts in your reader of choice. Whatever you like. It’s all good.

If you have any problems with your subscription, be sure to send me an email by clicking the Contact Me tab at the top . I’ll keep the lights on in the old kasbah as well as the new one for a while until y’all have made your way over here.

Many, many, many heaping bundles of thanks to all of you for reading, commenting on, and sharing my posts, and for letting me share my quirky thoughts and ideas with you. All of you make it worthwhile to be here and without you the kasbah would not be the colorful, lively place that it is. THANK YOU!

The tea is fully steeped and the pillows are fluffed. Come sit, sip, and share your thoughts on the new kasbah. I’d love to hear from you.

  1. Looking good! There seems to be a bit of a trend happening with regard to blog makeovers by the talented Ms Laird…
Hey – can you get Laird to add that cool check box that allows one to get email notifications of responses to one’s own comments? She’s got it on her blog. I don’t tend to subscribe to all followup comments, but I do like to know when you respond to me specifically without having to check back… (One of the things I like about the wordpress world.)
Good luck with the new blog, Tami. 🙂

Thanks, Ellen! Laird is a gem among our WANA tribe, that’s for sure. I’ve asked her to add the check box so readers can get notifications on follow ups to their comments so that should be here in the kasbah shortly. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

      • I’m so glad you like the reno! It was, naturally, all Ben’s vision. I was glad to help make it a reality! 🙂
And the comments reply feature should now be enabled!

You are a rock star, Laird! I say that all the time, I know. I’ll try to come up with a new way to say you’re awesome one of these days. 😉

  2. Oh. My. God. I think this is one of my favorite blogs in the universe. Seriously cool, ladies. As usual, I am in awe of both of you.

Aw, thanks Liv! That means a lot coming from someone with a very cool blog herself. Laird is such an awesomely creative genius, isn’t she?

Much obliged, Suzanne! One cuppa tea coming right up. 🙂

  3. I love the new look, smart, fresh and fun! The one thing I miss though is the Like button. I’m not sure if it can be added to non- WordPress sites, but if it can I think your readers would appreciate it!

Thanks, Elizabeth! Yes, the like button is something several people have brought up and is unfortunately not an automatic thing on self-hosted sites. Laird is looking into adding it as a plugin if there’s one available. You could always just leave a “LIKE!” comment if you want. 😉

I’ve got my people on it. And by people I mean Laird. 😉

  4. Wow, this is so pretty! 🙂 I love the whole look and feel of it; very in-theme. And the lanterns are oh-so-pretty. I wouldn’t mind having those in my house, actually. 🙂

Thank you, Adriana! Laird found some fabulous lanterns for the kasbah, didn’t she? I’d love to have some of those in my house, too.
